The Palamedes Swallowtail is a large and black butterfly with post-median yellow bands on the upperside hindwing and forewing. They have a wonderfully slow and gliding flight.
Note the yellow stripe along the wing base and the post-median band of yellow-orange crescents on the ventral hindwing.
