This particular White M Hairstreak started my butterfly obsession. It was found a day after Hurricane Irene left our area. There was abundant sunshine and admidst the destruction, the butterflies came out in great numbers at the local park. (Photo by Danielle Allor)

You can't help noticing the prominent "M" on the hind wing. Also of note is the white spot near the base of the hind wing. The beautiful iridescent blue is slightly visible on the abdomen.
