Note that the Hoary Elfin has frosting on both the forewing and hindwing. The Frosted Elfin and Henry's Elfin do not have frosting on the forewing.
Found this Hoary Elfin in a nice Bearberry habitat in New Jersey. The Hoary Elfin probably uses Trailing Arbutus for its larva host plant in Maryland since Bearberry does not occur in the State.
