There were heavy rains the night before this photo was taken and most of the butterflies were wet. This Banded Hairstreak was no exception. Luckily the sun came out periodically later in the day to help them out.

The Banded Hairstreak has a thin band of dark brown, mostly connected spots running down the postmedian areas of the ventral forewing and hindwing. These spots are bordered by white on their outer edges.
